Chinese authorities released a master plan for the Hainan free trade port in June, aiming to build the southern island province into a high-level free trade port with global influence by the middle of the century.

The port, as its name indicates, is all for free trade, with a particular emphasis on expanding the island s liberation and facilitation in global trade.
